We are excited to announce an international joint funding opportunity aimed at enhancing the network and research collaboration between UK-based and India-based researchers in the area of Future Telecoms/Networks. Projects are slated to commence from February 1, 2025, for UK applicants, with starting certificates to be submitted to EPSRC by February 14, 2025. Indian projects are expected to begin during April-May 2025.
Research areas:
Private network, Softwarisation of Networks,Future Services (ecommerce, AI / software, cloud and distributed compute etc.),Open Radio Access Networks (ORAN) ,Networking software and systems architecture ,Network of networks,Cyber security across networks,Sustainable communications (Net Zero),Sensor data across networks (e.g. waste management)
Eligibility:Indian Project Lead and Co-Is should be scientists/faculty members working in regular capacity in universities, academic institutes and national research and development laboratories/institutes.
Duration: These are integrated 5 year fellowships for M.Phil & Ph.D subject to academic criteria in force for selection to Ph.D programme.
Total Fund: £3,500,000 from EPSRC, with matching resources provided by DST India.
Deadline: 24 th September 2024 4:00pm UK time for applications to UKRI and 5 pm IST for applications to DST.

The Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, in collaboration with the Russian Science Foundation (RSF), is offering funding for Joint Research Proposals in India and Russia, focusing on areas of Basic Science.
DST and RSF invite dedicated Indian and Russian scientists/researchers to submit proposals for joint research projects in the following fields under DST-RSF cooperation:
Research Areas:
- Smart Healthcare and Medicine
- Smart Transport and Telecommunications
- Plant and Animal Biotechnology
- Artificial Intelligence.
Fund:
Each selected project will receive annual funding of US $100,000, provided in the respective national currencies.
